Dr Peter Wiegandt MD CCST MRCPI Consultant in Reproductive Medicine Dr Peter Wiegandt is a highly regarded fertility specialist and has been a member of the team at Cork Fertility since 2009. After graduating from Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest, Hungary in 1985 he commenced residency and then specialist training at the Department of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Jahn General Hospital, Budapest. Dr Wiegandt specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1989 and Paediatric Gynaecology in 1993. Prior to joining Cork Fertility, Dr Wiegandt worked at the largest public IVF unit in Budapest, the Buda Fertility Centre, located in St. Janos General Hospital, Budapest. He completed The Subfertility and Reproductive Endocrinology Course and The Assisted Conception Course as organized by the RCOG and the British Fertility Society. Peter has participated in many worldwide conferences and was invited as a speaker on several occasions. He has a special interest in medical ethics and in particular, ethical implications in the management of the infertile couple. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and a member of the Irish Fertility Society, the British Fertility Society and the European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology (ESHRE). |
